Singer ‘Lizzo’ Denies Claims She’s Only Popular Because She’s Fat

Professional singer ‘Lizzo,’ fresh off an appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live,’  took to Twitter  to defend herself against charges that she was only a star due to ‘an obesity epidemic in America.’

As The New York Post reports:

Days after making her “Saturday Night Live” debut, Lizzo took to Twitter to respond to a claim from author Dr. Boyce Watkins that she’s only a superstar due to “an obesity epidemic in America.”

“Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are,” the writer tweeted this week. “Unfortunately, Many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease.”

The “Truth Hurts” singer, 31, soon responded to the controversial orator, writing, “I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you.”

She went on, “Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me. Here’s the attention you ordered.”

Obesity is a serious problem in America today, but is it the reason behind Lizzo’s success? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
